Karen Farquhar collection of du Pont family papers, 1814-1899 (bulk 1876-1899).

The collection consists of letters and artifacts of Mary Van Dyke du Pont, Sophie Madeline Du Pont, and Victorine A. du Pont, the majority being letters addressed to Mary du Pont regarding her ward Victorine's illness and subsequent death in 1876. The collection includes a copy of the last will and testament of Sophie M. Du Pont and a sermon written by Victorine A. du Pont. Photographs from this collection are housed in the Pictorial Collections Department, Accession 2007.207. Artifacts in the collection include a number of locks of hair of various family members collected by Mary du Pont.

Karen du Pont Farquhar is the great-granddaughter of T. Coleman du Pont, president of E.I. du Pont de Nemours & Company in the early 20th century.
